  • INTRODUCTION

    Electronics is the branch of study that has revolutionized the life style of humanity. It is a pace setter and a prime mover behind the transition to a technological society. The field of Electronics and Communication Engineering encompasses all areas of human life. Radio, television, telephones, computers, automobiles, office machinery and house-hold appliances, life saving medical equipments and space vehicles represent a mere sample in the wide spectrum of application of Electronics.

    In the age of satellite transmitted television and transcontinental computer network, the challenge and opportunities in this profession continue to mushroom. Electronics and Communication Engineering graduates have unlimited opportunities in the field of terrestrial and extra terrestrial communication systems like telephones, cellular phones, television, optical fiber communication, consumer and entertainment devices. Highly rewarding and greatly satisfying opportunities await the Electronics and Communication Engineers in the field of satellite space programs, embedded technologies etc.

    PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  • Create conducive atmosphere in the department through which the students, especially from rural area will discover their own potential in Electronics and Communication Engineering and cater to the needs of industries of surrounding areas.

  • Provide opportunity to improve students' skills and competencies through participation in seminar, technical paper presentations and project works within the campus and at reputed companies.
  • Improve the faculty performance through continuous education, organizing and participating in seminars, workshops, national and international conferences.
  • Motivate both faculty and students to undertake research works and develop products through Industry and Institution co-operation.

  • Apply knowledge of computing, mathematics, science and engineering fundamentals with emphasis to Electronics and Communication Engineering

  • Design and verify the experimental results to analyze and interpret data.
  • Usage of modern tools as Proof of Concept (POC) for system modeling and synthesis as applied to Electronics and Communication engineering.

    ELECTRONIC DEVICES AND CIRCUITS LAB

    To provide exposure to the students with hands on experience on various basic engineering practices in Electronics components and devices

    INTEGRATED CIRCUITS LAB

    All analog and digital I.C related experiments can be carried out. The testers for IC are available.

    COMMUNICATION LAB

    The concepts of all type of modulation & demodulation can be studied. The recent communication techniques like fiber optic techniques can be demonstrated with available equipments. This lab has highly advanced digital storage oscilloscopes.

    VLSI LAB

    To Design Entry and simulation of combinational logic circuits,sequential circuits etc. Test bench creation, functional verification, and concepts of concurrent and sequential execution is highlighted.

    MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER

    This lab has various types of microprocessor, micro controller trainer kits along with interfacing modules to demonstrate the detailed applications of microprocessors.

    DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING LAB

    The detailed study of the digital electronics & signal processing concept based experiments can be performed. This lab has more than 30 numbers of Pentium IV 512 MB personnel computer along with required soft wares like MATLAB 7.1 version.

    MICROWAVE AND FIBER OPTICS LAB

    In this microwave lab characteristics of klystron power supplies, Gunn power supplies and microwave wave guides like directional couplers etc. can be studied.

    NETWORKING LAB

    To create scenario and study the performance of different protocols, network and verification of different algorithms through simulation.

    Electronics Engineers are also absorbed into the entertainment industry, research establishments, and defense. They can also take-up teaching and research in any of the engineering colleges in India or abroad.
